of a baseball game Saturday, June 13, 2009,
in San Francisco.

The San Francisco Giants lead the National League wild card race,
despite being tied for the fewest runs scored in the National League
(through Saturday’s games). This is due in large part to timely hitting
from players like Pablo Sandoval (pictured). The Giants have the largest disparity in baseball between their batting
average in high- and low-leverage situations. Mr. Sandoval alone is
batting 47 points better in key situations than he is at all other
times. – WSJ

Bochy said Pablo Sandoval might be ready to start
there. Sandoval has not played third since injuring his elbow May 22,
but has played long toss and could have played there in an emergency
Sunday. – Chron

After Panda’s long sixth homer on Sunday, he sits at .325 BA, .509 SLG, and .878 OPS.
